The Review:

Design: (9 out of 10) Beyond it's eye catching exterior, the Cosmic 35 is jammed packed with design features which make it ideal for camping... especially backing packing excursions. Some of our favorite design aspects include the stuff sack, which is quite small and forces the sleeping bag to be very compact when stowed away, leaving lots of extra room in your pack for essentials. Also we were thankful for the 3/4 length two-way zipper and it's ability to unzip near the middle for increased ventilation on warmer nights. Another design element that's worth mentioning is the security loops which run along each side of the sleeping bag. They're designed to attach a sleeping mat to the bag, so that when you're tossing and turning you never roll off your cushy mat!
Comfort: (10 out of 10) When coupled with a soft sleeping mat we found the Cosmic 35 to be exceptionally comfortable. The inner lining is very soft and gives you the feeling of being nestled in a warm cocoon just seconds after zipping yourself in. For added comfort Kelty went ahead and their customers a solid and added internal liner loops for attaching aftermarket liners.
Durability: (9 out of 10) Constructed from 50D polyester taffeta this sleeping bag is actually quite rugged! All the seams, zippers and stitching are extremely secure and well done. During our time with the Cosmic 35 we had no complaints about durability and we weren't overly protective by any means!
Value: (9.5 out of 10) Sleeping bags come in a variety of price ranges, in our opinion the Cosmic 35 can be found in the "affordable" price range. It's $75 price tag is chump change compared to the fun experiences you'll encounter while toting it through the back country.
The Bottom Line: If you're a warm weather camper who is in search of a sleeping bag that is stylish, comfortable, light weight, and affordable we highly recommend you give the Kelty Cosmic 35 degree sleeping bag some serious consideration before making any hasty purchases online or at your local sporting goods store. We trekked more than 30 miles and camped for two solid nights with the Cosmic 35 and when we were finished it was begging for more!
