Summer is almost here and you're looking at the newest 2011 running shoes to hit the market, aka the Mizuno Wave Prophecy shoes. The vision for these 2011 running shoe was to create a platform that optimizes the amount of compression in the heel while running, which in-turn alleviates stiffness in the forefoot and reduces the shoe's overall weight. The Mizuno Wave Prophecy shoes are said to give you the "ride of your life" as the technologies are built to work in harmony with your feet.
Mizuno Wave Prophecy Key Features:
Dynamotion Fit: Mizuno studied how the human skin moves to identify the biggest area of stretch (top of your toes). The Dynamotion fit material shrinks and expands in harmony with your foot, into the forefoot. This technology makes the shoe a 'slipper like' feel with the mesh fabric.
AP+ Midsole: This technology assists in the forward propulsion and bounce of the shoe.
SmoothRide Flex: This technology minimizes energy loss by optimizing flexibility in the forefoot. The Prophecy's forefoot flexes to a point, but stops around a 15-degree angle and then becomes somewhat rigid, so runners don't lose any energy when toeing off.
Gender Engineering: The Wave Prophecy will be available in separate models to suit male and female foot types. Generally speaking, most women have higher "Q Angles" [the alignment of the pelvis, leg and foot] than men, their feet typically hit the ground at a greater angle, which leads to overpronation. Men typically run more neutral, and the men's Wave Prophecy caters to that.
These running shoe look to be a game changer, heck they've been 7 years in the making. Now it's time for these bad boys to hit the streets. Catch the wave May 6th, 2011 when they become available in stores! Want to know more? See the Mizuno Wave Prophecy commercial below...
