Whiking = Bicycling + Sailing
Whiking is a new concept combining 2 sports (bicycling and sailing). Besides being a very green way of transport, Whiking is a new sport that sends riders flying at speeds up to 40-50km/h! The Whike, a tricycle recumbent bike with a 1.6m2 sail, is street legal for both bike paths as the normal road. "Cycling with the Whike is already a lot of fun, but the real thrill starts when the wind begins to blow the Whike forward. Overtaking a petrol driven Scooter with 50km/h is an absolute kick!" Says Olympic sailor Mischa Heemskerk, who tested the Whike recently. Whiking has grown with the Green revolution, since with the constant rising petrol prices, the environmentally aware consumers are looking for alternative ways of transportations. The Whike is green alternative for petrol bikes, cars and public transport. The Whike is clean way of transport; no batteries or engines are used, all you need is the wind to travel large distances easily. You can buy the Whike for a price of around 3000 Euros.
