The Vertrax Tracked Skateboard Concept is part skateboard, part tank, and all-terrain. Ditching the customary trucks and wheels you may be used to seeing beneath traditional skateboards, this skateboard concept easily rides over concrete, sand, grass, and even snow.
The brainchild of inventor Byron Lovett, the Vertrax Electric Skateboard combines the dynamics of a skateboard and those of a motorcycle allowing it's rider to carve around corners and ride where no skateboard could ever imagine. Since it is electrically powered, it quietly zips around without the noisy, smelly exhaust of mopeds and it's sleek design allows for portability elusive to the owners of a clunky segway.
Pictured is Lovett's handmade 1:1 scale model. There are no plans for production, as of yet, but I could definitely picture this stealthily zooming across college campuses in the next couple years... leaving pedestrians, long boarders, and bikers chasing your brake lights.
