The First Skis Made Out Of Stone by Simon Jacomet

first-ever-stone-skis-simon-jacomet.jpg

Simon Jacomet and his team at Zai, who are based in the beautiful monastic village of Disentis, Switzerland, design and craft skis with a reputation of being the most advanced, high-spec skis in the world. Keep in mind that only 500 pairs are made each year. With Innovation at the heart of Zai's mission to revolutionize the skiing industry, they have created these very special limited edition Spada skis. Spada is the romantic word for Sword....how sexy. These Spada skis are the first to be made with a base of Grisons granite. Stone was used because it is rendered bendable by Technocarbon of Munich’s new Carbon Fibre Stone technology, has enormous compressive strength and resilience and because it retains its shape and dampens vibrations. The result is a ski with incomparable quickness, grasp and smoothness.
