If the idea of camping in a transparent tent on the beach didn't make you too exited ... then maybe sleeping in a camping tent while hanging on the tree will. Unfortunately, we do not know who makes or sells these type of hanging tents but this photo is too cute to not post it. If you're courageous and romantic type, this may be just for you ...
We did some research and found more information on these pics. These hanging tents are called portaledge, and this is portaledge tree camping. The photographs are taken somewhere in the vicinity of Bavarian town of Pfronten in Germany, where an adventure mountain resort Waldseilgarten offers guests a thrilling night in the wilderness. Imitating rock climbers, guests can sleep in their own portaledges, hanging several feet above the ground. Here's from the Waldseilgarten's website:
"We sleep in portaledges that are hung from the thick branches of large free-standing trees. Ascent and descent are possible only with rope assistance. Location - most beautiful places with lofty old trees in front of mountain backdrop, in Pfronten, Germany. Sleeping bag, sleeping pad and meals (breakfast and dinner on the tree) on request; provided is the forest ropes course on the necessary climbing and rope techniques for getting on and off by rope into the bed."
