Calfee Bamboo Bikes

Calfee Bamboo Bikes are all the green rage and are appropriate for everyday use and for racing. Calfee Bamboo Bikes are made from Bamboo that has been smoked and heat treated to prevent splitting. Lugs are made of hemp fiber, for the all-natural look. The chainstays are available in carbon fiber for extra stiffness in the drivetrain. Bamboo bicycles offer advantages to regular metal bikes like vibration damping (Even better than Carbon fiber!) and off course are the greenest bikes you can buy. Each Calfee bamboo frame is built to order and every frame is a unique. Tubes are selected for the weight of the rider. The geometry of the Calfee bamboo frame can be any of our usual geometries: Pro, Tri or Cross. Custom frames can also be made. Mountain Bike frames are now also available. Calfee Bamboo bikes have won awards for Best Road Bike, Best Off-Road Bike and Peoples' Choice Award at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show. If you're looking for a "Bicycle with lowest carbon footprint" (least amount of carbon dioxide emissions in the production of the frame), this bikes frame would win, hands down. You can buy a Calfee Bamboo frame for a price of $2,695. Check out this Calfee Bamboo Bike in action on youtube.

Brammo, makers of the Enertia Electric Motorcycle, has just raised $10 million from investors that include Best Buy Capital to move forward production on the Enertia electric motorcycle. Anyway, the Enertia manages over four times the energy efficiency of the most popular hybrids and over twice the efficiency of an all-electric car, gets 45 miles per charge, and comes with GPS and is WiFi-enabled (helping you calculate your carbon savings). Panasonic Lithium Vivi RX-10S Li-Ion Battery Powered Bicycle

The Panasonic Lithium Vivi RX-10S Li-Ion Battery Powered Bicycle is an electric bicycle capable of recharging a Li-ion secondary battery using a regenerative braking system. When riding up slopes and downward slopes, the assisted travel range on the Panasonic Lithium Vivi RX-10S Li-Ion Battery Powered Bicycle becomes reportedly extended to approximately 125km with the use of the regenerative braking system, whereas the assisted travel range is only about 90km without using the system. So by stopping, you store energy in the bike. The Panasonic electric bicycle also has a function to change over the regenerative braking force in two levels using brake levers on the right and left sides. When slightly applying the brake on one side, the motor generates half the amount of the maximum regenerative power. By squeezing both brake levers at the same time, the maximum power can be generated.

With a driving range of up to 280 miles, the FCX Clarity offers the equivalent of 74 mpg. This is all made possible with the entirely-new Honda V Flow fuel cell platform, but unfortunately hydrogen stations aren't on every block the car is only being sold in SoCal for now.
