Custom fit running shoes by Somnio "Don't just sell shoes... They Solve Problems." or at least that's the pitch Somnio Running, a new company in Santa Cruz, Calif., gives retailers when talking about its line of high-end running shoes. Custom fit running shoes by Somnio are the first "truly customizable" running shoes and are coming out with three flagship models that can be tweaked and adjusted in a shop to match a runner's unique anatomy and biomechanics. Somnio's system includes three types of footbeds and when mixed and matched these components and custom configurations can create 648 unique shoe types, including different setups for the right and left foot. Their goal is to customize shoes for arch comfort, leg alignment, cushioning, foot strike, and pronation control and to make the runner more efficient, more comfortable, faster, and less prone to injury. Somnio shoes will be available in May for about $125.
